Adrian Portelli News
Adrian Portelli, the hero of Billionaire Block, explains why he wanted a $3 million McLaren “decoration” in his opulent mansion.
The $3 million “decoration” of an Australian millionaire has drawn attention from all over the world, but the businessman has explained why he chose to have the car craned in.

Few people could afford the choice made by a young Australian millionaire to display a “rare” $3 million McLaren in the living room of his $39 million Melbourne penthouse apartment.
Adrian Portelli gained notoriety on The Block’s season from the previous year when he bid $4.8 million for Omar and Oz’s house in Gisborne South during the last round of bidding.
“I was fairly low-key back then, so no one really knew what I was worth or how much money I had,” Mr. Portelli said to Nine Network’s A Current Affair.

People believed that I couldn’t afford the house, but I was aware that I could afford them all.
Danny Wallis, a home collector, eventually purchased the house for $5.66 million, although Mr. Portelli claimed he was unfazed.
Mr. Portelli acquired money in a number of computer start-ups after starting out in poverty in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Mr. Portelli claimed to now make $100 million a year, or $2 million each week, from a varied business portfolio that is reputedly worth $1 billion.
His most recent real estate purchase, a two-floor penthouse at Sapphire by the Gardens in Melbourne’s CBD that cost an astounding $39 million, will serve as the new residence for his special sports car.
“(I bought the car) simply because I could,” he said.
“It’s just a rare car, there’s only 75 of them in the world, only three in Australia.
“I am definitely going to drive this car around this penthouse.”

When asked about how such a spectacle might affect others in the community struggling amid an ongoing cost of living crisis, Mr. Portelli said he would choose how to spend his own money.
He claimed, “I bought the car just because I could.
“It’s merely a rare car; just 75 exist worldwide, and only three are in Australia.
I’m going to circle this penthouse in this car, without a doubt.
Mr. Portelli responded that he would decide how to spend his own money when questioned about how such a spectacle may affect other members of the community who are struggling in the midst of a protracted cost-of-living crisis.

He declared, “I’ll do what I want.”
I wasn’t born into this status; I had to strive for it. I used to struggle as well.
“Some people can use this as motivation to get the life they deserve, or some people can hate it and be negative about it.”

Mr. Portelli claimed the record-breaking penthouse is “just a weekender” despite the fact that renovations are not yet complete.
“I’ll come here if I go out to a pub in the city and don’t want to drive home.”
