Amber Frey News
After a court refused Scott Peterson’s request for a new trial, Amber Frey, his ex-girlfriend who subsequently testified against him, is coming out exclusively to Fox News Digital.
Frey, who was revealed to have had an extramarital affair with Peterson, is speaking out just one day after California Superior Court Judge Anne-Christine Massullo declared that she would not grant Peterson a second trial in the killings of his wife, Laci, and their newborn son, Conner.
She expressed relief at learning that Scott Peterson will not be granted a new trial in a statement given to Fox News Digital by Gloria Allred, her longtime legal representative. “I was prepared to testify once more. I’m happy that my testimony won’t be required, though. The truth does not alter over time, therefore if I were summoned to testify again, I would do so honestly.
Despite claims that one of the jurors was biassed and dishonest, Massullo decided that no fresh trial was necessary. On Tuesday, she delivered the long-awaited verdict, stating in her 55-page judgement that the accused juror had acted emotionally rather than with bias against Peterson and had made “honest mistakes.”
The judge stated, “The Court finds that several of the responses provided by Juror No. 7 on her juror questionnaire were false in some respects.” The jury no. 7’s answers, according to the court, “were not driven by a priori or improper bias against Petitioner, but rather were the result of good faith misinterpretation of the questions and carelessness in answering.”
Sharon Rocha, the mother of Laci Peterson, did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. The case was “far from over,” according to Pat Harris, Scott Peterson’s attorney, who said in a statement supplied to Fox News Digital that he was “disappointed” in the decision.
We have recently discovered new information that will demonstrate Scott Peterson did not kill his wife Laci. And we’re going to keep working until he’s released,” he wrote. The court acknowledges that Juror #7 violated the law, but justifies her actions by claiming that her background, her tumultuous relationship with her partner, and her frequent memory lapses all qualify as justifications for her misbehaviour. With due respect, we disagree.
