Only a week before his sudden death, Andre Portasio sent a heartfelt note to his husband Paul O’Grady, telling him he was proud of him. Andre appreciated Paul’s devotion, talent, and commitment in his last blog entry. At the age of 67, Paul passed away on Tuesday night “unexpectedly yet quietly.”
In a statement, Andre, a former professional ballerina, said: “He will be deeply missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals, and all who cherished his wit, humour, and compassion. He would undoubtedly want me to express my gratitude for all the affection you have given him throughout the years.
Paul and Andre first crossed paths in 2006, and they later wed in a private ceremony in 2017, according to YorkshireLive. Recently, Paul had been touring the nation with the Annie musical, in which he played Miss Hannigan.
Andre posted a heartfelt tribute to his husband on social media the week before his performances in Scotland.
