Chin-Quee added, “Even if it means I would never get another job in medicine again, I gotta be honest about what it is and how it’s been if I’m gonna tell this story, which I think would be helpful for folks who come through this.”
Chin-Quee complimented the inspirational value of medical student memoirs and literature, but he thought the representations of medical school and residency did not reflect his reality. Chin-Quee loved to read fiction and tell stories growing up, but he didn’t want to fictionalise his experience by assigning it to a made-up character.
