Three 9-year-old pupils and three adults were shot dead Monday at a private Christian elementary school in Nashville by a shooter who had blueprints of the building, left writings behind, and scouted a second potential assault site, according to authorities. Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old former student at the institution, was named as the shooter by police, who described the incident as targeted. According to Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake, Hale entered the Covenant School by blasting through a side door while carrying three firearms. According to the authorities, the onslaught lasted for roughly 14 minutes. According to police spokesman Don Aaron, the first report of the gunshot came in at 10:13 and the shooter was found dead at 10:27.
