Bob Stauffer News
Today, the Edmonton Oilers made the announcement that they have renewed their contract with Bob Stauffer, the city’s top full-time hockey analyst. Stauffer will continue to serve as the host and colour analyst for all episodes of “Oilers on 630 CHED” and “Oilers Lunch” on The TEAM 1260.
“Oilers supporters are fervent about their club, and Bob gives them all the Oilers news they could possibly want. Bob engages the team, the players, and the fans like never before as our radio colour commentator on 630 CHED and the Oilers radio network and the fans’ favourite insider, according to Patrick LaForge, president and chief executive officer of the Oilers. “We appreciate his unwavering excitement and commitment to the fans.”
Stauffer will continue to host the wildly popular “Oilers Lunch,” aired weekdays between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on The TEAM 1260 am radio. This is almost as significant. As the Oilers Lunch audience expands, LaForge continued, “We believe that Bob has much more to contribute as we continue to develop all of our radio and media components.”
Stauffer began his broadcasting career as a volunteer at CJSR radio Edmonton and then rose to the position of communications officer for the University of Alberta Athletics, where he specialised as the play-by-play announcer for the football and hockey teams of the Golden Bears. Also, he has held a variety of positions with ITV (now Global TV), Molstar, Fox, ESPN, Hockey Night in Canada, and Sportsnet.
With today’s announcement that Bob Stauffer will serve as the radio broadcaster for Oilers games, one-half of the broadcast team is set for the upcoming campaign. Later this summer, the name of a new play-by-play Oilers radio voice will be announced.
The Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Bank, TELUS, Cenovus Energy, and Ford are among the sponsors of Edmonton Oilers hockey.
