Bryn Parry News

Prince William expressed his “deep sadness” over the passing of Help for Heroes charity co-founder Bryn Parry in a tweet. The “life-affirming, inspirational” co-founder of Help for Heroes, Bryn Parry, who sadly passed away from cancer, has received praise from Prince William.

With the help of his wife Emma, Mr. Parry founded the armed forces charity in 2007, and since then, it has helped injured, ill, and sick veterans and service members by raising millions of pounds. In February, at a special investiture ceremony conducted at his house in Wiltshire, Mr. Parry received the distinction of being named a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE).

Today, the Prince of Wales paid respect to Mr. Parry by posting the following on Twitter: “Deeply sad to learn that Bryn Parry has died away. His work with @HelpforHeroes made a difference to so many people, and its ongoing effects will be his legacy as a life-affirming, inspirational guy.

According to aides, William wrote to Mr. Parry after he was awarded a CBE by Hampshire’s Lord Lieutenant, Nigel Atkinson, on February 15 in a private investiture at home due to his terminal cancer.

Before beginning his career as a cartoonist, Bryn served in the Royal Green Jackets Army unit. For their work with veterans, they were awarded OBEs in 2010. In 2016, they gave up running Help for Heroes.

“Deeply honoured to have been appointed to CBE for in recognition of H4H’s support to the Armed Forces, their families, and veterans,” Mr. Parry posted on Instagram after the investiture ceremony in February after posting several pictures and sharing a few captions.

“I would especially want to thank His Majesty The King and his representative, fellow rifleman and Lord Lieutenant for Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson. Thank you very much to Emma and the family. Now it’s back to PJ’s!”

After learning of the abuse of injured veterans at a swimming pool in Leatherhead, Surrey, cartoonist Mr. Parry and his wife Emma co-founded the military veterans charity in 2007. They helped generate millions of dollars for soldiers hurt in Afghanistan and Iraq in particular.

The Parrys also co-founded Bryn Parry Studios in 1986, which produces high-quality presents with Bryn’s designs and accepts orders. Help for Heroes CEO James Needham released the following statement in honour of Mr Parry tonight: “Everyone at Help for Heroes is very grieved by the passing of our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE.
