Chi Chi Izundu Profession

She is also a BBC entertainment journalist, which is the most astounding aspect of her. Chi Chi started her career when she was 17 years old. At that age, she hadn’t even received her diploma. In 1997, she started her career by contributing to Girl About Town Magazine. In case you missed it, Jesy Nelson talked about how internet bullying led to her attempt at suicide.

Chi Chi Izundu Career

At the age of 17, Chi Chi started writing a regular piece for Girl About Town magazine. Before becoming a producer for the Saturday Sport show, the Jon Gaunt show, Drive, Vanessa Feltz, and other shows, she later worked as a researcher for BBC London 94.9. Following that, she continued her studies at City University to earn a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

Izundu subsequently worked for Virgin Radio’s entertainment news department. Before joining the BBC again as a correspondent for BBC Radio 1Xtra, she also worked as a freelancer for Sky News and ITN. Izundu also served as Trevor Nelson’s breakfast show’s entertainment host and anchored TXU, a two-hour news magazine programme.

She eventually became a member of BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat entertainment reporting team, where she broke numerous significant stories, including a week-long investigation into the ticketing sector that helped Newsbeat earn a Sony Gold award.

Chi was then dispatched to the Victoria Derbyshire show, where her assignment was to contribute “hard entertainment news stories to the programme.” Chi broke the story on the controversial police risk assessment form 696, as well as the association between UK gang violence and Grime music. She also exposed how Robbie Williams’ management was overcharging fans for tickets on resale sites despite having previously signed a public notice against them.

Chi has also worked as a Correspondent for the BBC’s Newsgathering department, reporting on a range of stories for their flagship news programs, the Six and Ten o’clock evening news. She travelled to Jamaica to cover the Windrush scandal, the way children as young as 11 were abusing Xanax, and the Mercury Prize winners, among other stories.
