Model Christy Giles stated she was partying with a friend and was going to an industrial area of East Los Angeles where a rave was being held in the final text she sent to her husband before she passed away.
Jan Cilliers, her husband, told The Post that he received the text from his 24-year-old wife between midnight and one in the morning on November 13. He described the communication as “loving and affectionate,” according to Jan.
A few hours later, Giles was found unconscious at a hospital in Culver City. There, she succumbed to an overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, ketamine, and GHB, which is sometimes referred to as the “date rape drug” since it is frequently used by attackers to render their prey unconscious.
Later that day, interior designer Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, a friend of Giles, was abandoned at a different hospital in the Los Angeles region.
Several days later, just a few days before her 27th birthday, Cabrales-Arzola passed away from organ failure. Cocaine, ecstasy, and other unidentified narcotics were discovered in her system. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has accused 40-year-old Hollywood producer and club promoter David Pearce of the women’s killings. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled both deaths to be homicides.
DA George Gascón made the murder accusations official on Tuesday while also charging Pearce with more sexual assault in unconnected incidents. According to Gascón, seven more women have come forward to accuse the producer and party promoter of sexually assaulting them between the years of 2010 and 2021. The DA warned that there might be more women out there and urged any potential victims to come forward.
Pearce is also charged with two counts of offering to sell Giles and Cabrales-Arzola a controlled narcotic. If found guilty on all the counts, Gascón said he might receive a sentence as long as 120 years.
Since December, Pearce has been detained and is being held on a $3.4 million bail after being accused of raping four different women in unrelated incidents.
Cilliers told The Post on Tuesday, “I’m incredibly delighted that the wheels of justice have started turning. However, because Christy will never return, there can be no true justice in this case.
