Review of Corona Papers Movie
Filmmaker Priyadharshan has created a police drama set during COVID-19 that draws inspiration from Akira Kurasawa’s grim suspense movie Stray Dog, which was released in 1949. The latter appears to be an attempt to investigate the socio-economic situations in the pandemic era, while the former is set against the backdrop of the hopeless socioeconomic realities of postwar Japan. The footage appears to take place during the “normal time” with the exception of a few items like the mask, PPE pack, and sanitization sprays.
Rahul, a freshly hired SI of the Kerala Police, misses his official gun in a crowded bus on a beautiful afternoon. His bosses and he resolve to catch the offender ourselves rather than disclose it to the authorities. They had no idea that looking for the pistol would prompt.
Actor Sidhique does a terrific job portraying a retired police officer who had to deal with numerous legal repercussions after his superiors planted an encounter case against him. With some intriguing stunt sequences, Shane, Shine, and Lal give the spectator some heart-pounding moments. However, because the characters are flat, the movie is uninteresting.
