Although Christmas Day has passed and the radio has stopped playing holiday music, for the devoted, the holiday season has only just begun. We are devoted to providing our readers with some of the best, most uplifting Christmas music during the week leading up to Epiphany Sunday, and today’s selection is a great treat.
The talented vocalist Dan Vasc produced this rendition of “Angels We Have Heard On High” in 2021. Despite being best known for singing lead for the metal band Fearless, the singer has amassed a sizable fan base thanks to his incredible YouTube performances.
We were initially startled by Dan’s voice’s size when listening to this carol, but his immaculate pronounciation of the song’s numerous languages—including Latin, German, Portuguese, and English—is just as astounding. Vasc mentioned in the comments that he selected these languages because the majority of his fanbase speaks them.
Vasc’s almost operatic tenor soars over an orchestra as the song begins with a classical style, but it quickly builds and offers something somewhat new in each stanza. In one of them, he layers his voice so that it seems like a choir, and towards the conclusion, the song has changed keys to a higher key, which really brings out the best in his voice, especially on the high note that comes at the end.
It is undoubtedly a bombastic performance, according to the Christmas rock genre made popular by groups like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
