Deni Todorovic News

The problems queer activist Deni Todorovic has been having at Australian Fashion Week have persisted after someone they “thought was a friend” barred them from attending an event.

The 34-year-old non-binary person, who uses the pronouns they/them, was forced to spend Wednesday night in their hotel room in Sydney after security personnel said they weren’t invited to a fashion show on the third day of the festival. “Someone to whom I expressed sympathy.

I came to her show out of sympathy and with a gift in my bag, therefore I won’t mention the name of her event, the venue, the performer, or the brand.

Todorovic, it is believed, was attempting to enter Nadia Bartel’s off-site Henne runway at St. Barnabas in Ultimo when they were refused entry.

The social media star is shown in pictures wearing a frilled black skirt with a split up the front center to reveal their Dolce & Gabbana knickers. They were carrying a sizable branded brown and beige handbag and were also sporting a grey “Drink Coca-Cola” hoodie.

Todorovic reportedly never received an invitation to the event, and sources told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential that they weren’t a friend of the designer.

The security staff later corroborated this, telling the newspaper that the fashionista was incredibly kind and composed when told that they had to leave.

Later, Todorovic addressed the incident in an Instagram Live video, calling it a “blessing” because it allowed them to attend the Thursday night premiere of The Tina Turner Musical.

This latest fashion week incident follows Todorovic’s failure to board a Jetstar flight on Monday owing to a confrontation with airline workers that eventually resulted in them meeting with Australian Federal Police. Todorovic missed Monday’s festival activities.

The self-described “author, broadcaster, sl*t, tranny, and wog” claimed that the argument started because one of their bags was overweight and required a $100 extra.

Those involved “blew up” at them, tried to “arrest them,” and “pushed (them) up against a disabled/trans person,” they later claimed in an Instagram post.

Other airport employees are believed to have been involved in the incident, which occurred when the AFP approached Todorovic at terminal three, which is home to Virgin Airlines, rather than terminal 4, which is home to Jetstar. An AFP spokesperson told news.com.au, “A person was spoken to by AFP officers at Melbourne Airport, following a request for assistance from Jetstar.”

At the time, the responding AFP officers didn’t need to take any further action. Todorovic also commented on the pictures that were taken of them talking to police outside the domestic airport when they were dressed in a sky-blue gown modeled by Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City.
