Elodie Grace Orkin knew she had a difficult job ahead of her when she agreed to play Eleven’s high school bully, Angela, in Stranger Things 4. The role included some particularly scathing dialogue and a graphic sequence. The internet exploded with memes cheering Angela’s grisly demise and wishing even worse for the malicious character after she was so cruel to poor El, but she delivered in spades and as soon as Season 4, Volume 1 was released. Orkin views that as evidence of a job well done.
Because Angela is such a horrible person, Orkin admits, “I was expecting a lot more hate.” I’ve received some feedback on social media, but it’s generally been positive feedback, such as “I despised your character so much, which means you did a wonderful job,” which I took as praise.
