Emma Simpson News
The appointment of Emma Simpson as a new Director has been welcomed with enthusiasm by UHY Haines Norton.
Emma has worked in the accounting field for 25 years, nearly 16 of those as a Chartered Accountant. Early in her career, she made the decision that an accounting career was the best fit for her. She explains that accounting for her involves gathering all the components and assembling them to create something significant. Her father, Richard Benjamin, was a prominent chartered accountant who managed RL Benjamin on the North Shore. The profession also ran in the family.
After spending five years working abroad in London and Glasgow, Emma joined her father’s business in 2002. Emma carried on her father Richard’s legacy after his untimely death in 2016 by managing and expanding the company with the help of John Ballard, an ex-UHY Director and close friend of her father’s. “John stepped in and encouraged me to get my public practise certificate and keep running the practise when my father unexpectedly passed away,” adds Emma.
Emma admits it was difficult to let go of RL Benjamin, but she believes the time could not be more ideal. “The amount and complexity of compliance mandated upon businesses – especially small- to medium-sized businesses – has seen a huge increase over the last few years,” she says.
“My clients will benefit greatly from having the backing of a firm as reputable and accomplished as UHY Haines Norton.” Emma is delighted to be joining the company as its newest Director and Board member due to her lengthy affiliation with UHY and similar professional ideals. She claims that joining UHY is a fantastic opportunity for both herself and her clients.
“Working as a member of a larger team is exciting and difficult, but I’m ready for that.” In order to lend her perspective and use her experience to their particular circumstances, Emma is keen to develop ties with UHY clients. She always wants to go above and above. Additionally, she anticipates maintaining the deep working connections she has with RL Benjamin clients, many of whom.
Sungesh Singh, the managing director, is overjoyed that Emma has joined the team. He claims that Emma is quite skilled at fixing problems and assisting clients in getting the best results. She exudes a strong sense of loyalty and trust, and we are confident that she will be a great complement to the UHY team. The future is in good hands.
Emma takes great satisfaction in her ability to communicate clearly and enjoys putting her clients at ease. “For many people, taxes and the IRD can be the most terrifying things,” she explains. I really like figuring out difficult issues and breaking them down into smaller, more manageable problems. My clients can resume doing what they do best if I can lower stress levels.
