Gran Turismo Real Story – The Gran Turismo movie is based on the real-life experiences of British racing driver Jann Mardenborough, who became well-known after attending the Gran Turismo Academy. Gamers had the opportunity to engage in real-world racing through the academy, a contest sponsored by Nissan and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
When Mardenborough won the Gran Turismo Academy in 2011, he was a 20-year-old student. To win the tournament, he defeated more than 90,000 other competitors. He received a full-time racing contract from Nissan as a reward.
Mardenborough afterwards enjoyed a prosperous career in racing. He participated in the World Endurance Championship, Formula E, and Formula Renault 3.5. He had a couple appearances in Formula One as a driver in 2014 and 2015 for the Manor Racing team.
Many video game players who aspire to be professional race car drivers find inspiration in Mardenborough’s narrative. He has the chance to make a career out of his love of video games thanks to the Gran Turismo Academy.
In August 2023, the Gran Turismo movie is scheduled for release. Orlando Bloom plays a racing executive, David Harbour plays Mardenborough, and Archie Madekwe plays his mentor. Neill Blomkamp, known for his work on the movies District 9, Elysium, and Chappie, is the film’s director.
