Jack Teixeira News
Jack Teixeira, the leader of the “Thug Shaker Central” online chat group where the documents first surfaced, was detained by the FBI on April 13, 2023, and will appear in court today in Boston, Massachusetts, where he violated the Espionage Act. The Pentagon officials learned about the leak when the documents were posted outside the chat room group.
Brigadier General Pat Ryder, a spokesman for the defence department, claimed that the leak, which began several months ago when more than 100 classified documents were posted on “Discord” (a social media site popular among gamers), was a “deliberate criminal act.”
Participants in the leak came from Russia, and Ukraine, as well as various other nations in Europe, Asia, and South America.
The first leaks were kept within the confines of the small chatroom, but in early March, members started posting them on other Discord servers, including those dedicated to the video game Minecraft and a Filipino YouTuber.
Later, they were posted on “4chan” and “Telegram,” and he went by the usernames “TheExcaliburEffect,” “jackdjdtex,” and “TexKilledYou.”
