JD Pardo Controversies
EZ Reyes (JD Pardo) put an end to his bloody and tumultuous term as El Presidente of the Mayans motorcycle club with those two words.
Nobody was aware that EZ was also a DEA agent five years ago when he persuaded his brother Angel (Clayton Cardenas) to allow him to join the Mayans when he was released from prison. But in the Mayans M.C. season finale on Wednesday, fellow Mayans Bishop (Michael Irby), Hank (Frankie Loyal), Gilly (Vincent “Rocco” Vargas), and the recently patched-in Nestor (Gino Vento) ambushed EZ and Angel in Templo.
When government informant Katie (Stella Maeve) told Bishop about EZ’s treachery and the fact that he had their club brother Creeper (Joseph Raymond Lucero) dead to hide his tracks, Bishop yelled, “You’re the f—ing rat!” Bishop then presented Angel with a dreadful option: kill EZ to demonstrate his allegiance to the Mayans or perish with his informant brother. EZ informs his older brother that he is prepared to pass away since he is aware that there is no hope for him and because he wants Angel to be able to raise his young son, Maverick, in peace.
In an interview with EW conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike began, Pardo stated that “the entire point of EZ this season was that he wanted to die.” “EZ wouldn’t want a Son to kill him. That was never going to occur. Not by the cartel, not by a stranger who has a hit out on him, or by anyone else. For EZ, it was the ideal conclusion since he immediately thought, “It has to be my brother.” I want my brother to be the one.”
Ultimately, though all the other Mayans did likewise, it was his brother who stabbed EZ in the stomach first. While Angel and his infant son were able to leave the club scene and start over somewhere near the coast, EZ Reyes passed away with a grin on his face.
