Josh Gerstein Career
Before working for ABC, Gerstein covered terrorism-related issues for CNN’s investigative unit, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Gerstein served as ABC’s Beijing reporter from 2002 to 2003. He made several visits to Afghanistan and Pakistan, reporting for shows like “Nightline” on the letters sent to the families of Guantanamo detainees and the security measures put in place to safeguard American officials.
He covered the SARS crisis for “World News Tonight” from the rural farms in Guangzhou, where the virus was believed to have originated, as well as from the desolate streets of China’s capital. Gerstein spent 15 years (1995–2003) working for ABC News.
