On June 5, 2022, when it was claimed that Junmoni was involved in a corruption case, she sparked outrage. The cops detained her and suspended her for the same reason. Ram Abatar Sharma and Ajit Bora, two contractors from Majuli who received payments of Rs 50 lakh and Rs 13.72 lakh, respectively, were accused of giving her money.
