Kate Bateman Wiki, Wikipedia, Antiques Expert, Flog It, Auctioneer, Age, Bargain Hunt – Kate Bateman is well-known for both her work with the BBC as an antique expert and, more recently, for writing a number of historical romance novels. Kate Bateman, who was raised in both Spain and the UK, is the daughter of two artists and auctioneers who also operated an antique shop and art gallery.
She grew up working in the family enterprises before partnering with her father, Ron Bateman, to create Batemans, an auction house. The company, which has its headquarters in Stamford, began operations in 2001.
She was contacted to appear on Flog It! while working there. She was cautious at first, but eventually accepted the offer and got positive feedback.
After that, she was asked to appear on Bargain Hunt, and since she was accustomed to being on camera, she agreed.
Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is is another project she is currently working on.
Kate has a book deal and writes books as KC Bateman. Although she refers to her books as historical romances with strong female protagonists, others have claimed that her writing is more suited to an erotica genre.
Currently, she has three books in the “Secrets and Spies” series published: To Steal A Heart, A Ravens Heart, and A Counterfeit Heart.
Her first book, To Steal a Heart, has 4+ ratings on GoodReads and has generally received excellent reviews.
According to Kate, her success in the antiques industry was largely due to her love of history, and authoring these books is merely an extension of that love. She continues by saying she detests traditional romance books in which the bedroom door is just slammed and nothing happens.
