Kate Shaw Career

She is currently the co-director of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Professor and Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy. She is a practising attorney and lecturer. Her teaching and research interests as a law professor include constitutional law, election law, administrative law, the Supreme Court, and gender and sexual orientation and law.

During her time at Northwestern University, Shaw served as the Law Review’s primary editor. She is a fellow of the US Administrative Conference as well. Her prior professional duties included doing administrative duties for judges such as Justice John Paul Stevens of the United States Supreme Court and Judge Richard A. Posner of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Over her career, she has won various awards and recognition in fields like teaching, research, lobbying, and media. Shaw received a residency at the Point B Worklodge in New York with the assistance of the Australian Council. Shaw was also recognised in the “Spectrum” Index Book” and the ABC TV show “Conquest of Space,” which aired in Barcelona on August 17, 2016.

She has also received several grants and contributions from Arts Victoria and the Australian Council for the Arts. Shaw has also received nominations for several art awards, including The Redlands Prize in 2014 and the Prudential Eye Awards in 2015. She was also a candidate for the Arthur Guy Prize in 2013.

In 2012, Shaw was awarded Gold Award, the Wynne Prize, the John Fries Memorial Prize, the John Leslie Memorial Prize, and the Substation Contemporary Art Prize. In contrast, she received a John Leslie Memorial Prize nomination in 2003. In 2010, 2011, and 2014, Shaw was nominated for the Wynne Award once more.
