Katherine Renee Kane News
2020 Juilliard grad Katherine Renee Turner has joined as a new series regular on the mothership series. David Hudgins, a Friday Night Lights alum, has joined FBI: Most Wanted as executive producer/showrunner as part of a larger agreement he has signed with Universal Television, the production company behind the FBI series.
As the criminal drama changes its creative direction, Hudgins will succeed René Balcer, who created FBI: Most Wanted and was a frequent Wolf collaborator and Season 1 showrunner.
FBI, which also saw showrunner changes early in its existence, became one of CBS’ most-watched shows very rapidly. FBI: Most Wanted to be ranked as the most-watched new drama last season, helped by having the mothership series as a lead-in.
Turner will portray Tiffany Wallace, a fiery “best and brightest” who was reared in Bed Stuy, in the third season of FBI. Although she fell in love with being a Fed after working on a joint task force, she spent six years with the NYPD, largely dealing with drugs. At 26 Fed, she is still somewhat of an anomaly.
Turner received her diploma from The Juilliard School earlier this year after appearing in productions of Dominique Morisseau’s Paradise Blue and Lynn Nottage’s Crumb From The Table Of Joy. Turner received honours for her lead performance in the San Francisco production of The Convert by Danai Gurira before enrolling at Juilliard. APA represents her.
For Hudgins, this represents a return to Universal TV, a division of NBCUniversal Content Studios. He developed several ideas at the studio and previously worked on Parenthood, most recently in the role of executive producer. Prior to that, Hudgins was co-showrunner the final season of Uni TV’s Friday Night Lights, which received four Emmy nominations, including best drama series. Hudgins worked on Friday Night Lights for the entire course of the show.
The NBC drama series Game Of Silence, based on a Turkish model, was conceived and executive produced by Hudgins while he was most recently employed by Sony TV, where he also served as showrunner for Hulu’s Shuteye. Early in his career, Hudgins worked on the WB soap Everwood and produced the short-lived Fox drama Past Life.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New York office’s inner workings are examined by the mothership FBI. Alana De La Garza, John Boyd, Jeremy Sisto, Zeeko Zaki, Ebonée Noel, Missy Peregrym, and others star in this film. Executive producers include Dick Wolf, Rick Eid, Terry Miller, Arthur W. Forney, and Peter Jankowski.
The Fugitive Task Force, which aggressively pursues and apprehends the prominent criminals on the Bureau’s Most Wanted list, is the subject of Most Wanted. Hudgins collaborates with executive producers Peter Jankowski, Dick Wolf, Fred Berner, Arthur W. Forney, and Hudgins.
