Nas Daily News
Nas Daily creator Nuseir Yassin, a well-known Palestinian-Israeli, has started an online learning firm with the goal of “disrupting education.”A year after being found with $12 million in seed money from Lightning Venture Partners and TechAviv Founder partners, Nas Academy is currently seeking investment from Pitango, OurCrowd, and BECO Capital in Dubai.
At an online briefing this week, Yassin said, “We are a collective of creators from over the world who love bringing people together. Internet education is a lonely and monotonous procedure. We set out on a mission to improve learning communities because of this. Also, we think that artists will undermine education.
We have chosen to enter the market and raise a round because we are prepared to scale, he said. With 1,000 daily one-minute Facebook videos charting Yassin’s travels across the globe, Nas Daily quickly became a viral sensation.
He used social media to connect nas, the Arabic word for people, and he was incredibly successful. The Harvard-educated software engineer abandoned his lucrative position at Venmo after the upbeat, contagious videos gained him 50 million followers and tens of billions of views.
Yassin still seeks to bring people together online, but he has a different objective. With business partners who were formerly at Uber and Grab, Yassin founded Nas Academy, a startup for content creation and learning that gives successful content creators access to a platform where students can study together and teachers can make money from their expertise. Its headquarters are in Dubai and Singapore, where Yassin now resides most of the time.
A paying audience of 200,000 students and 100 of the biggest influencers and artists in the globe were attracted to Nas Academy in its first year of operation. The academy provides classes in entrepreneurship, business, and content development.
The academy’s courses have been used by more than 50 international businesses, including Google, TikTok, Pfizer, Singapore Airlines, and Bayer, as well as governments and police agencies, to teach their staff.
Because people don’t like to learn alone and don’t finish courses, the previous model of downloading educational courses from the internet failed, according to Yassin. According to him, Nas Academy created a “cohort-based learning paradigm” that groups students to form “learning communities” that support and motivate one another.
