Nina Jankowich Career
Prior to the publication of her book in 2020, Nina continued to appear often on a number of important radio and television programmes, including CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS and the BBC World Service. Nina Jankowicz has held a Wilson Centre fellowship since 2017 and is continuing to hold it. She has worked with Kennan Institute and the Science and Technology Innovation Programme under Wilson Centre. On issues including disinformation and strategic communication, she provided advice to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. She formerly oversaw the programmes to support democracy in Belarus and Russia.
Joe Biden named Nina the recently established Disinformation Governance Board chairman on April 27, 2022. Since she was appointed, many people have criticised her. Josh Hawley, a senator from the Republican Party, criticised Nina Jankowicz. She also received a great deal of flak for her prior backing of Democrats from the Republican candidate.
Later on May 18, a few days after the board had been formed, news broke in the media that the board and all of its working groups would be disbanded. They identified failures by DHS to interact with pertinent Congressional entities as the primary reason for the shutdown. Finally, on May 17, 2022, the board was disbanded, and Nina Jankowics formally gave up her position as DHS.
