Noel was a climber from County Down’s Dromara. He was the Spartan Race’s creator. His 10 Mount Everest ascents were a career-high, and many people congratulated him for his accomplishments.
He was a Northern Ireland Institute of Coaching-certified workout and fitness instructor. In the 1997 Himalayan 100-mile Stage Race, he took the first position.
He successfully completed the ascent and descent of K2 in 2018, becoming the first person from the Island of Ireland to do so. He was included in the Guinness Book of Records, even. In 2021, he conquered Everest for the tenth time.
Noel Hanna Death
On April 17, 2023, Noel reached the 8091 metres of West Nepal’s Annapurna Peak, but he died the next night in Camp IV after returning from the summit. A mountaineer died, according to climbing authorities, as they were coming down from the top of the tenth-highest peak in the world.
Hanna reportedly ascended the highest peaks on all seven continents and Mount Everest ten times during the course of his illustrious climbing career, according to CBS News. He completed one Everest ascent in 2006 by biking for two weeks from base camp to the coast of eastern India. He was the first Irish person, per the BBC, to successfully ascend and descend K2, the second-highest mountain in the world, in 2018.
However, Annapurna is regarded as being particularly dangerous because to its avalanche-prone terrain. Successful mountaineer Baljeet Kaur, 28, needed to be rescued from the peak on Tuesday after becoming ill while descending, according to The Guardian.
Anurag Maloo, a different climber, slipped into a crevasse on Monday and is still missing. Irene Hunter, Hanna’s sister, stated in an interview with the BBC News NI’s Evening Extra that her brother “loved a view and he just loved people.”
