Pat Mcgann Wikipedia, Netflix, Net Worth, Videos, Age, Wiki, Biography – Most newcomers to the field of standup comedy are young adults who are hungry to become famous and wealthy through their ability to make people laugh. Pat McGann, though, chose a different route.

The 46-year-old Chicago native worked as a packaging salesman in his twenties, promoting items like custom-printed bags. He didn’t fulfil a long-held desire to perform on stage until he was thirty-one, and the risky move has paid off.
McGann made notable appearances at the world’s largest comedy festival, Just For Laughs in Montreal, as well as on David Letterman’s show and for Stephen Colbert. He currently performs at clubs all around the country, but on April 22 when the hometown favourite shines in two performances.
“This is undoubtedly a significant step for me. It’s significant,” declares McGann. “I’m going to be playing smaller theatres and performing arts centres across the country, but none of them have 3,600 seats, for a theatre run that I’ll be announcing next week. So, this is both significant and bizarre for me.
As the youngest of three children, McGann grew up in a big, loud household that enjoyed laughter. He remembers his parents visiting New York City’s top clubs to see comedians, and his mother obsessively observing late-night programmes for their stand-up comedians.
He had a long-standing habit of penning jokes and humorous thoughts in diaries, but he was unsure what to do with them because it was “much harder to find places in Chicago to publish funny stuff than to find stage time.” He used a successful first try at the now-defunct Chicago Centre for the Performing Arts to launch a successful career performing at Catholic churches all throughout the city and suburbs, which he credits with helping him build a huge local fan following.
He was house MC at Zanies for up to nine months at a time, working six nights a week. This experience taught him how to mine the audience for funny material. He also met emerging artist Sebastian Maniscalco there, who invited him to join him on tour as his opening act.
His biggest achievement was realising his lifelong desire of appearing on the Letterman show, which he called “the most validating experience of my life.” He was astounded to be playing on the same stage that the Beatles had when they made their American television debut on “The Ed Sullivan Show” as a history buff.
He explains, “When I get to accomplish anything, I try to soak it in. Then I got to do it again, and that was even better since I got to enjoy it even more and fully immerse myself in the experience. It gives you more confidence and makes you feel like you can continue.
McGann, who is now a father of three small children, frequently makes jokes about fatherhood as well as mundane inconveniences and peculiar circumstances. He appreciates the ample free time his work gives him to be a dad in between his weekend engagements even if he is frequently on the road.
