International shooter Poonam Pandit, a candidate for the Congress party in the Bulandshahr Siani seat, was soundly defeated by the BJP candidate. Shooter Poonam has won a gold medal at the international level, but she lost the election and had her bail revoked because of it.
The Congress chose Poonam Pandit as its candidate in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections of 2022 (UP Election 2022). Poonam Pandit is a professional shooter who first gained notoriety through the farmer’s movement.
