The story of the movie examines the difficult concepts of love, loyalty, betrayal, and justice.
A man of honour and integrity, Rustom is depicted as being torn between his love for his wife and his responsibilities as a naval officer. The movie also explores the social and cultural aspects of the era, when honour killings were commonplace and extramarital affairs were frowned upon. The acting in the movie is excellent, and Akshay Kumar gives a subtle portrayal of Rustom, a guy who is having a hard time accepting his wife’s adultery and the repercussions of his actions.
In her portrayal of Cynthia, a lady divided between her love for her husband and her ardour for Vikram, Ileana D’Cruz is also remarkable.
