Shannon Devido Disability
DeVido was born with spinal muscular atrophy and is a Philadelphia native. She has long been confined to a wheelchair. Movement is hampered by this hereditary disorder that weakens the muscles. Despite the fact that the problem is severe and will only become worse over time, there are drugs that can aid with symptom control.
Shannon thinks that by being named a BAFTA Breakthrough, she will get to know people, perhaps change their opinions about what a performer with a disability is capable of, and help everyone else by opening doors.
DeVido had a natural sense of humour, but he wasn’t initially interested in being a comedian. She wished to participate in athletics.
She suddenly made the decision to apply for an improv group and developed an interest in the comedy and acting fields. She went to an improv theatre after numerous unsuccessful callbacks for auditions, when she discovered humour was her speciality.

Jackson Kelly (Witch Mountain, Lessons in Chemistry) and Shannon DeVido (Best Summer Ever, Difficult People) complete the cast of the Lucky Hank television series, which stars Bob Odenkirk and Mireille Enos. AMC and AMC+ will air the Lucky Hank premiere on March 19.
In recurring roles, DeVido plays Emma Wheemer, an assertive and direct English instructor at Railton College who works under the direction of Hank Devereaux, Jr. (Odenkirk), the department chair.
Kelly plays Barto Williams-Stevens, a student who, in spite of a lack of proof, has a strong belief in his own abilities and potential. He establishes the Excellence Committee, a student monitor, and irritates Hank.
In the dramedy from TriStar TV, William Henry Devereaux Jr. (Odenkirk) is the reluctant chairman of the English department at a financially strapped university in the industrial heartland of Pennsylvania. His unhappiness stems from unresolved conflicts with his father, a subpar and entitled student body, and the fact that his department is more bitterly split than the Balkans.
DeVido is an actor, writer, and director who most recently starred in the television shows Manifest on Netflix, Difficult People on Hulu, and HBO Max’s The Other Two. KMR Talent and Entertainment 360 are her agents. In the most recent episode of ABC’s The Good Doctor, Kelly played Drew Goddard. He will then appear in ABC’s Witch Mountain. TalentWorks, 11:11 Entertainment, and Duvall Mac Talent are his agents.
