Simon Harrison has been appointed senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Avaya Holdings Inc. (NYSE:AVYA), a leader in solutions that improve and streamline communications and collaboration, starting as of today. Harrison joins Avaya from the top research and advisory company, Gartner, where he served as the director of research and lead analyst for the unified communications and contact centre sector.

Harrison will oversee Avaya’s global marketing operation as CMO to engage both current and potential clients, as well as partners, promote the use of the company’s software solutions, and support Avaya as the market leader in the rapidly evolving digital communications space.

Harrison has worked in the communications solutions sector for more than 25 years as a thought leader, product strategist, marketer, and consultant. Before joining Gartner, he worked for organisations including Cirrus, Vocalcom, Siebel Systems, and others in top positions in marketing, sales, product marketing, and product management.
