Sudha Murthy Career
Sudha Murty expressed her dissatisfaction with the company’s gender bias in a postcard to the then-Chairman of TELCO. She was then given an interview and employed right away, becoming the first female engineer to work for TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO), India’s largest automaker. She began her career as a development engineer in Pune before moving on to Mumbai and Jamshedpur. She also held a senior systems analyst position with the Walchand Group of Industries in Pune.
She founded the Infosys Foundation in the year 1996, and she currently serves as its chair. Additionally, she holds a visiting professorship at Bangalore University. She held a faculty position at Christ University.
