On Wednesday, Tim McGraw walked the red carpet for the 2023 Academy of Country Music Honors with his girlfriends by his side. The singer of “Live Like You Were Dying” accepted this year’s ACM Icon Award in front of almost his entire family.
With his wife, Faith Hill, and their two youngest daughters, Audrey and Maggie, McGraw appeared on the red carpet at the occasion. They matched their father’s white Dior suit and black, patterned Saint Laurent button-up ensemble for their first-ever red carpet debut, shocking the crowd. He surrounded his family as they posed for pictures, finishing the image with a black leather cowboy hat and black boots.
While her sister, 25, was dressed in a form-fitting black dress, Audrey, 21, donned a flowing white Ascony dress. In a long-sleeved black Valentino mini-dress with a ruffled capelet and cuffs and sparkling knee-high boots, Hill completed the fashionable foursome.
On Wednesday, the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, hosted the third consecutive Carly Pearce-hosted ACM Honors. The night’s honorees also included Clint Black, Randy Travis, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Charlie Daniels, all of whom are considered to be country music royalty.
The Icon Award was established to recognize a performer whose body of work has significantly impacted pop music on a global scale.
Following the Standing Room Only Tour announcement last month, ET talked with the 56-year-old, who quipped that he’s “the worst singer” in his family. He described Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey as all-around excellent singers. “At some point, I’d love to record a song with the five of us. They say, “I ain’t gonna sing with you, Dad,” whenever I bring it up.
“Perhaps I’ll persuade them to do it. Maybe they’ll pass that stage where they don’t want to sing with me a little bit. I’m probably not up to par with the rest of them, but they’ll sing with Mom,” he remarked. “I’m the family’s worst singer. It is real. I can sing very well, but I’m the family’s worst singer.
The musician might go to the ACMs one day to see one of his daughters earn the Icon Award! McGraw joked that Hill “comes out occasionally and hangs out with us” in response to the question of whether his wife will accompany him on tour for some performances.
Regarding his wife of more than 26 years, he stated, “She likes it. She enjoys herself by the stage’s side. She would be seen dancing the entire night if we had a camera on her.
In addition to giving fans a sneak glance of Hill in the background, McGraw gave fans a preview of the amazing tour that Pearce will be opening for him.
It’s been a while since we’ve performed an arena tour. I am anticipating it. We have a wild, amazing production coming up that I can’t wait for everyone to witness. We’ve probably never had a production quite like this one. We’re going to blow it out,” he added before adding that there won’t likely be any pyrotechnic displays during his performance.
“I don’t do pyro much. I’m very terrified. I know myself well enough to know that I move all over the place, and sure enough, when one of those things goes off, I’ll be standing right over it,” McGraw jokingly said. We do not require that. My a** would catch fire. Fox will broadcast the 2023 Academy of Country Music Honors on Monday, September 18.
