Troy Landry Career
Troy’s upbringing helped to mould him into the person he is today—a seasoned alligator hunter, reality TV celebrity, prosperous businessman, and a proud Cajun. When he used to hunt for their meat at a young age, he became interested in gator hunting. He founded his own crawfish distribution and harvesting company in 1992. He spends around eight to nine months a year gathering and marketing crawfish, which he then sells to consumers in Louisiana and other states after purchasing them from nearby fisherman.
Troy takes part in the 60-day gator hunting season that begins each year in the swampy Atchafalaya River Basin. With his kids Jacob and Chase, as well as his stepson Brandon, he goes alligator hunting while utilising his trademark weapons and the catchphrase “Choot em.” He abides by the stringent hunting laws because he does not want gators to once more go extinct. In earlier interviews, he continued,
“You can believe it, it’s very closely regulated and that’s where we are today,” said the author of the statement. “Anytime an animal is placed on the engendered species list and the population comes back strong and healthy enough for them to allow a hunting season.”
Troy has filled more tags than any other swamper in the bayou, making him one of the most successful and fearless gator hunters there. He has also experienced several near misses, nearly getting bit by gators multiple times. He makes money by selling the alligator meat and hides, and he also makes an appearance on the History Channel reality series Swamp People, which features footage of his gator hunting exploits. He also provides a unique chance for members of the public to go gator hunting with him and his family.
In Pierre Part, Louisiana, he also runs Landry’s Seafood Restaurant, which specialises in seafood and Cajun-Creole cuisine. Troy Landry also owns a petrol station and convenience shop in Pierre Part, Louisiana, which he named Duffy’s Shell after his father. In addition, he sells his own caught crawfish and bait for fishing at the business. Additionally, he has a clothing line that features his catchphrase “Choot em” and the Savage Arms signature rifles that he created.
