Vicky Myers News

Vicky, a resident of Thornaby, North Yorkshire, did everything within her power in the months leading up to her passing to create memories with her son William, whose father John passed away in 2015. Vicky took her kid on a number of family vacations, including a caravan trip, throughout the course of the previous year.

Vicky’s best friend Lorraine Mulgrew revealed in an interview with The Mirror that Vicky’s “greatest worry” was leaving William without a father and that she “held on as much as she could.” Vicky received the bad news in February of last year that her breast cancer had spread to every part of her body and that she only had three months to live.

According to Lorraine, “She clung on as tight as she could to do everything she could for William.”I’ve never encountered anyone gutsier than her. All she endured was done so for William.” The boy’s musician father passed away in 2015 at the age of just 32.

Vicky found a lump in one of her breasts two years after the untimely death of her husband. Her scans were clear after numerous exhausting rounds of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Vicky, however, started experiencing symptoms near the end of 2019, and in February of 2020, she was informed that she had terminal cancer after scans revealed tumours in her liver and rib cage. Her father, Jeff, passed away a few days after receiving a diagnosis as a result of ongoing health issues.

Vicky did “an incredible job” of prepping William for what was going to happen, in Lorraine’s opinion.” She experienced bereavement for her children when her husband died, so she was prepared. She told him the truth “stated Lorraine.

She would respond, “William, I’m not going to get better this time. The doctors are doing their best to make me comfortable, but I’m not going to get better,” when he said, “When you get better mummy, we’ll do stuff.”

She did a fantastic job, but no amount of good work can prepare you for losing a parent, especially a mother so young. Many charitable organisations, including Butterwick Hospice and the Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Foundation, will assist with Vicky’s burial on January 29.

According to the JustGiving page, Vicky Myers, the most courageous person I’ve ever met, died her fight with cancer on January 11, 2021, at the age of 35.

“She fought valiantly till the last end and left behind a bewildered family and friends. She did everything she could to spend as much time as possible with her eight-year-old son William until she was no longer able to fight. She was utterly dedicated to him.
