The theme “La Bebe” is evidence that the 23-year-old singer-songwriter, Yng Lvcas, a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco, has established himself as one of the leaders of the new wave of urban music singers. However, following the success that placed him on numerous lists internationally, Featherweight, also known as Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, contacted him to create the remix of this song.
Yng Lvcas explained in an interview with Publimetro that he joined Peso Pluma thanks to a common connection, and although initially he had considered other musicians for the remix, something in his head told him that two Mexican artists would make a fantastic combination, “There hasn’t been anyone who lifts reggaeton to full,” he added. “I thought Featherweight would do incredible and I said yes without thinking and he did excellent. It was the first time I met him and he is an excellent person.”
There is no denying that the versions of the “La Bebe” remix are spreading like foam, and Yng Lvcas revealed that at first he thought the song would succeed owing to the recent success of Featherweight, but he was wrong.
“If I can tell you something I learned from him, it’s what a good person he is and no one is going to change that,” he said, adding that he had always been a fan of corridos lying down, rap, and reggaeton. He had dreamed that everything would happen so soon.
Speaking about the music video, the singer-songwriter said that everything happened too quickly because the song was recorded on a Thursday. “We recorded the song and the video the next day because Featherweight was very busy.
There are several takes, the first ones are We did that day, which is where we are recording with some balloons like in a studio, and the following week, we recorded the shots where the girls are seen. Everything was rough because we had to work around Featherweight’s schedule, but it turned out great.
Then, Yng Lvcas said, “An EP of five songs is coming. In May I will stop with the presentations to rest my throat and organise things with my team to take singing lessons and also return more handsome than ever.” This year, he plans to debut more collaborations and devote himself to promoting.
